Gliders After Dark-25Sep26.png

Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No… It’s a colugo!

Also known as the flying lemur, the colugo can’t, in fact, fly! Instead, this remarkable mammal glides up to 100m from tree to tree using a special skin membrane called a patagium that stretches between its limbs, just like a kite!

Here in Singapore, the Sunda Colugo makes well-forested nature reserves and nature parks, like Bukit Batok Nature Park, home. By day, they quietly cling to tree trunks, their grey or brown mottled fur helping them disappear against the bark. But when night falls, it’s time to emerge! With their large eyes, these shy creatures navigate the darkness in search of a midnight meal of leaves, flowers and fruits.

Curious about the Sunda Colugo and other fascinating creatures that come out after dark? Join us to discover this exciting landscape right in here in Singapore!
